Phleum Pratense (Timothy Grass)

The most important feature of Phleum species are tastiness and very high resistance to winter. Shows very good performance in damp and heavy textured soils. This species have a very good resistance in winter but drought and heat resistance is limited.

Shooting and growing after sowing is slow. Phleum types are generally well tolerated for cutting while several kinds performs well in grazing conditions. Temporary varieties are more suitable for grazing.
