SPRING
When the grass starts to grow longer, it means the season for mowing. First, all leaves and garbage are taken with a flexible rake. In the spring, the normal garden rake is not used as it will damage the lawn. In the first form, the blade is set to the highest setting. If the thickened grass is cut a little long during the winter, the machine will not be difficult and the grass will not deteriorate. The later ones are cut in normal size. Scissors are used for places where the machine does not enter.
If there is distortion on the edges, it is corrected with a straight edged shovel. If necessary, irrigation is done in dry weather. In April, a slow-acting grass fertilizer is thrown. After the grass is strengthened for a week or two, herbicide is applied if necessary. Or by using pesticide fertilizers, the problem can be solved at once. It is the ideal season for the new lawn facility through seed sowing. Seeds are sown in the soil that is cultivated in early spring.
SUMMER
Grass is mowed and watered regularly. Grass fertilizer can be added 1-2 times a season, depending on the need. Herbal medicine does not help much in heat. Herbs such as alfalfa become blunt by regular mowing. If permanent plants with pile roots are found, they are removed by hand or sprayed on the plant directly with the ready-made herbicide sold in spray form.
AUTUMN
If desired, grass fertilizer can be applied one last time. If available, fertilizers specially prepared for autumn should be used. These fertilizers strengthen the roots. The most intensive work on the lawn is done in this season. If there are permanent weeds, herbicide is applied before the weather gets too cold. The algae are scraped or destroyed with the algae medicine. After a few weeks, the lawn is aerated with a special rake, if not with a garden rake. This tool both cleans the dry grass layer accumulated at the bottom and provides some ventilation of the soil.
Especially in heavy areas, it is very good to ventilate the soil by opening regular holes with a tool such as a pitchfork. The bald parts that become evident during spraying and ventilation are repaired in autumn. When the grass is first planted, it should be noted which breed it was. Thus, if the same type of seed is used in the future, there will be no color change. There are also patch grass seeds. They have the ability to quickly cover baldness without requiring overworking of the soil.
Soil reinforcement can be made to the grass in autumn. For this, good quality garden soil mixed in half with burnt manure is sieved. If the soil of the grass area is clayey, some thin stream shaft is added to this mixture. Grass is pre-cut. The soil mixture is sprinkled to 2-3 shovels per square meter. The thin and wide edge of a board is swept through the ground, allowing the soil to spread to the bottom of the grass. This is done after other maintenance work, before patch work.
WINTER
There is not much work on the lawn in winter. Grass machines and other equipment are cleaned and maintained. In hot climates, it can be formed sparsely in winter. Dry leaves are collected without accumulation to prevent disease. It should not crawl on very wet or frozen grass. Towards the end of winter, when the soil is annealed, new grass areas are started to be cultivated.
